Selfless Limpopo teacher Tiny Bopape, 42, was hailed and praised by principal, colleagues and members of the Modjadji Royal Council for putting Bolobedu on the map.
The teacher won a top prize at this year's National Teachers Award competition held in Polokwane recently.
Bopape has pledged to use part of the R5000 cash prize she won to renovate part of the school and to install shelves in some classrooms, to make learning and teaching easier.
Her career started in 1990 at her first job at Meidingen Primary School, and in the same year was moved to Sefahone Primary, at Ga-Rapitsi Village a few kilometers from Meidingen.
She was deployed to Mokwasele Primary in 1991, where she replaced a teacher who was leaving the school because of illness.
The multi-talented mathematics, English and Life Skills teacher, said she has worked hard to climb the ladder of success since she arrived at the school.
She explained that one other thing that helped her win the competition, was her participation in extra-mural activities.
"I was inspired by my boss (principal), who also motivates us to work hard so that we may become achievers in everything we do.
"I get motivation from my principal who is very cooperative and always wants to see all teachers succeeding at all times," Bopape said.
Bopape, a teacher at Mokwasele Primary School in Bolobedu, represented Mopani District in the provincial competitions.
