The S A C P in the Mopani district of Limpopo is visiting health centres and hospitals around the area to check on the working conditions of health workers.

The SACP's visits include inspections of the conditions under which patients are treated.

Senior party officials announced this during a visit to Kgapane Hospital near Modjadjiskloof in Limpopo, yesterday.

There they met various stakeholders, including hospital management, staff and patients.

They also toured various wards, including the out-patients section and the ARV clinic which can now provide antiretroviral drugs.

The campaign focuses on access to quality health services and other factors affecting public health.

SACP secretary in Mopani district Percy Ndlala said they had partnered with the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union and the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa who are major stakeholders.

"We have taken a decision to join other organisations interested in the promotion of proper health care for the people in the area," said Ndlala.

They would also visit farms around Hlaneki near Giyani, to check on the working conditions of farm workers, who are reported to be poor.
