The Masetle family from Kagiso on the West Rand is mourning the sudden death of a loving father and husband.

Lucas Masetle, 45, was described by his wife Kitsi as a pillar of strength and a source of motivation.

"He gave me strength and moulded me. I was not even aware that he was going," she said.

Kitsi said her husband was humble, a listener and an educator.

"He loved his family."

The late Topp Properties employee was also well-known for helping friends and family with their tax returns. Many will miss him for that.

He also worked for other property companies including Johnnic Properties and Nu-Way Housing Developments as a corporate marketing manager.

Masetle was also involved in his company's community-based projects.

He was good at giving people advice and helped many with their problems regardless of the magnitude.

"I have lost a husband, a person who was not afraid to give. A real family man," said his wife.

She said the loss had left her feeling helpless, but that she had become strong for the sake of her children.

Masetle was born in Dube, Soweto, and died on October 25 after a short illness at the Johannesburg General Hospital. He is survived by his wife and two daughters Malebo, 20, and 19-year-old Mathekiso.

His service will be held at Kagiso Hall from 7.30am and he will be buried at the Kagiso Cemetery at 11.30am tomorrow.
