The resolution by the Premier Soccer League's board of governors - soccer's highest decision-making body - to set aside R70million to reward those who played a role in securing sponsorships should be accepted. This agreement, which will obviously be met by heavy criticism from certain quarters, should be respected because it has been made by delegates representing the PSL clubs themselves.

A committee appointed to facilitate this process is expected to table its report on November 10. We hope they will present reasonable recommendations on an issue that has caused so much tension in parliament and within the soccer fraternity.
