The Sedibeng District Municipality is using the 2010 World Cup as a vehicle to introduce massive developments in their communities as part of their legacy projects.

Lisa Seftel, Sedibeng municipal manager, said they were involving all community members in their projects.
Seftel said they have established five working groups to ensure they deal with the specific needs of the various communities.
The projects that the working groups are working on are the urban renewal of Vereeniging central business district and development of the riverfront, Sharpeville Precinctt, tourism, soccer and safety and security.
The urban renewal group is made up of representatives from property developers, business and small medium enterprises.
Yunus Chamda, the Sedibeng municipality's director in charge of planning and development, has been appointed the convenor.
Jacob Khawe, manager for heritage, is the convenor of the group dealing with the Sharpeville precinct development which has business and the Gauteng department of sports, arts and culture on board.
"The working groups are open to members of the public.
"Anyone who feels they have a contribution to make is welcome," said Seftel.
