Paraffin stoves manufactured by the Tao Ying Metal company of China are still being sold in South Africa under the brand name Panda despite being a major cause of shack fires, said the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS). "On several occasions SABS warned Tao Ying Metal not to sell these paraffin stoves," SABS said. SABS pleaded with the company to apply corrective measures, but it deliberately failed to do so, the SABS said. Several meetings were held with the company and legal directives were issued to the company to recall noncompliant products. - I-Net Bridge - I-Net Bridge
