After two successive defeats by Free State Stars, Jomo Cosmos should come out spitting fire against AmaZulu at Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa tomorrow.
Ezenkosi were beaten 2-0 and 1-0 by Ea Lla Koto in the Absa Premiership and money- spinning Telkom Knockout on the past two Saturdays.
Cosmos will be at full strength this time round with the return of Bamuza "Jab Jab" Sono from a two-match suspension.
Sono was sent off after being involved in a punch-up with Phil "Lekgowa" Evans when they beat Bidvest Wits 2-1 at the beginning of the month.
Bamuza, son of the legendary Jomo Sono, who is also the coach of Cosmos, has since apologised for his actions against Wits, which cost the club a R60000 fine.
Sono junior yesterday told Sowetan that they were gearing themselves up for a tough game against AmaZulu.
"AmaZulu have been playing some great soccer this season, it is not surprising that they have registered comprehensive victories in the past few weeks," he said.
"However, they will also find us ready for them. We need to pull up our socks after the two consecutive defeats by Free State Stars."
Sono was on national duty with Bafana Bafana in Italy and Bloemfontein in the past two weeks when he served a two-match Premier Soccer League suspension.
Usuthu will also be out to redeem their tarnished image after losing 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic in a Telkom Knockout match at home last Thursday night.
They have a highly experienced coach in Clive Barker, who had Sono senior as his technical advisor when Bafana Bafana won the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations.
Sono senior and his technical staff will have to tighten up their defence, which looked badly disorganised in Bethlehem on Saturday.
The return of Bamuza Sono will ease the pressure on Liberian Anthony Laffor, with AmaZulu looking to the likes of Shoes Moshoeu and Mpho Maleka to do it for them.
The game starts at 3.30pm.
In the Mother City on the same day, Ajax Cape Town welcome Wits at Athlone Stadium at 7.30pm in a game that could go either way.
The Urban Warriors, who will have Clifford "Robot" Ngobeni calling the tune from the engine room, will be motivated by their top position on the log.
Wits will still be without the suspended Evans but their coach Roger De Sa will be on the bench.
De Sa has completed his suspension.
