Mogwase regional court magistrate, Stefaan du Toit, will decide on March 31 next year whether chief Nyalala John Molefe Kgafela has committed fraud of R27million.

The Bakgatla ba Kgafela chief from Moruleng in Saulspoort, North West, is facing 43 counts of theft, corruption and defrauding the Land Bank of R27 million.

Chief Pilane, 47, is appearing with councillor Koos Shimane Motshegwa, 46, who is facing a charge of stealing R10000 which belonged to the tribe.

Both the accused pleaded not guilty and are out on R2000 bail.

In yesterday's hearing, state witness Frans van der Bergh told the court he has the records of all the purchases which incriminate the two.
