Soldiers swept the road in the village of Senoba yesterday for any bombs and mines laid by rebels, ahead of the arrival of yet another convoy of military vehicles and artillery heading towards the border.
The Turkish military has stepped up its presence in the area since Sunday when rebels of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) killed at least 12 soldiers in clashes near the border.
