One of five men injured in Sunday's explosion at an electricity substation in Plumstead, Cape Town, has died.

One of five men injured in Sunday's explosion at an electricity substation in Plumstead, Cape Town, has died.

City spokesman Charles Cooper confirmed the man's death yesterday.

All five municipal workers suffered extensive burns in the explosion on Sunday.

One worker was critical and another in a serious but stable condition. The other two were stable.

The blast occurred while the men were carrying out maintenance work. - Sapa
