AmaZulu and Thanda Royal Zulu have sharpened their spears for their Absa Premiership duel dubbed "Impi ya MaZulu" - the war of the Zulus - at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi tomorrow at 6pm.

The two sides will be desperate to win this tie for different reasons.

Usuthu will be out to assert their territorial dominance. Royal Zulu are the newcomers in KwaZulu-Natal after they relocated to the province this season and they will need to make their presence felt by beating their established opponents.

"We are determined to win this match and protect our dignity," Pilani Mabaso, AmaZulu's spokesman, warned yesterday.

Johan Eriksson, the youthful Royal Zulu coach, would not be drawn into predicting the winner.

"What I can tell you, though, is that we will compete against AmaZulu," Eriksson said.

Elsewhere tomorrow, Thabiso Mekuto, the publicist of the high-flying Ajax Cape Town, believes their home turf will give them the edge over SuperSport United at Athlone Stadium at 5pm.
