CAIRO - Egypt's foreign minister and intelligence chief arrive in Sudan today to mediate in the standoff between Khartoum's central government and its southern coalition partner from the Sudan People's Liberation Movement.

Ahmad Abul-Ghait and Omar Soliman will meet Sudan's president and former southern rebels. Egypt has been traditionally a power broker in Sudanese politics. - Sapa-dpa
