Local Organising Committee chairman Irvin Khoza, has been invited to talk on the benefits of the 2010 World Cup for the youth in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.

Local Organising Committee chairman Irvin Khoza, has been invited to talk on the benefits of the 2010 World Cup for the youth in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.

Khoza will speak at the University of Zululand's sports gala dinner at King BhekuZulu hall, said head of department of sports and recreation, Cosmos Hlatshwayo.

"The buzz word on the lips of many South Africans, young and old, has been that we are going to be rich during the World Cup, but people don't know what to do.

"We thought it will be a great thing to invite Dr Khoza as one of the people leading the process of preparing for the tournament.

"There are many students, some of whom are not directly involved in sports, who would also like to benefit, but they are not sure which channels to follow," said Hlatshwayo.

"The main objective of the function is to honour sports persons who achieved and made the university proud locally and internationally this year.

We will have the sportsman of the year, sportswoman of the year, best club, most developed code of the year, captain of the year and coach of the year."

Senior officials from the university and provincial government will be among the guests.
