A co-defendant in the OJ Simpson armed robbery case is expected to plead guilty to a lesser charge in return for his testimony that guns were involved in the September 7 raid that landed the American football star-turned-actor in jail.

Charles Cashmore was to have pleaded guilty to being an accessory to robbery in a Las Vegas court yesterday.

He is accused of being one of the five men who joined Simpson in a raid on a hotel suite last month.

According to reports, Cashmore will testify that two of the men in Simpson's gang were carrying guns.

Simpson spent three days in a Las Vegas jail following the incident.

He was then released on bail and allowed to return home to Florida.

He will be back in court for a hearing later this month. - Wenn
