Highveld Lions all-rounder Justin Ontong has been appointed captain of a revised South Africa team that will compete at the Hong Kong six-a-side cricket tournament from October 27-28.

Cricket South Africa announced the changes to the team on Wednesday.

Ontong replaced Johan Botha after Botha and Albie Morkel's late inclusion in the Standard Bank ODI squad for the five-match series against Pakistan. Johan van der Wath, an original selection, has also been excluded after signing a contract with the Indian Cricket League (ICL).

The replacements are Alviro Petersen, Werner Coetsee and Faf du Plessis.

Petersen was one of the standout performers on the recent South African A tour of India, while Coetsee made his debut at that level. Du Plessis, an emerging batting talents, was a member of the successful SA Emerging Players squad that won a recent tournament in Australia.

Revised SA sixes squad: Ontong (captain), Petersen, Coetsee, Gulam Bodi, Du Plessis, Tyron Henderson, Rory Kleinveldt, Ray Jennings (manager/coach).
