Ernie Els and Retief Goosen will once again carry South Africa's hopes in the popular yearly Nedbank Golf Challenge that will take place at Sun City in North West from November 29 to December 2.

The South Africans were part of the 12-player line-up announced at a media briefing in Johannesburg yesterday.

Others are Jim Furyk, Adam Scott, Padraig Harrington, Rory Sabbatini, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Geoff Ogilvy, Luke Donald, Henrik Stenson and Charl Schwartzel.

The golfers will battle it out at Sun City's Gary Player Country Club for the crystal trophy. Golf enthusiasts can look forward to some impressive newcomers from as far afield as Australia and a few ranked South Africans.

Alastair Roper, tournament director, said he expected this year's tournament to produce more entertainment and to be of a high quality.

"As 12 of the world's top ranked golfers tee up, fans will be able to enjoy first-hand experience of being close to greatness," said Roper.

"Everything is in good condition as far as the preparation of the course is concerned. This year's player line-up is unquestionably one of our most impressive to date with 11 of the official top 20 players in the world ranking taking part."

Greg Garden, divisional director of Nedbank group marketing, congratulated Roper and his team at Sun International for securing yet another world- class field.

Imtiaz Patel, SuperSport's chief executive, said his company will broadcast the tournament from day one to the last.
