Four women who were unfairly dismissed by a Gauteng private clinic have been compensated following a ruling by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
The women, who were employed by Top Care Women's Clinic at its Dube, Soweto, and Randfontein, West Rand branches, were awarded amounts of between R4000 and R12000.
CCMA spokesman Lusanda Myoli confirmed the women were unfairly dismissed and said compensation varied depending on each employee's work experience. Myoli said the commissioner also made a ruling that the women were not to be reinstated.
Rebecca Nyandeni, 26, Sheila Msimango, 44, Pinky Mokgethoa, 26, and Onica Dusakwe, 28, who earned between R2000 and R3000 a month, were fired without clear reasons.
