Respect life

The 12 school children who died in a horror crash on the notorious Moloto Road in Mpumalanga remind us how perilous this deadly stretch is.

Travelling on the road is to dice with death, despite all efforts to stop the carnage.

Most shocking is that the taxi involved in the horrific accident was apparently overloaded with 19 pupils.

The accident could have been avoided if the driver, who also died, had respected road safety regulations.

Motorists, especially bus and taxi drivers, have a duty to exercise extreme caution, drive sensibly and obey the law.

How many more must perish on our roads before these drivers listen and preserve other peoples' lives?

Enough is enough.
