Friendship gets thrown out of the window as Nkosinathi Joyi challenges Zukisani Kwayiba in a showdown that will determine the ultimate gladiator between the two fighters in their weight division.

But Joyi first defends the IBO mini flyweight title against Gabriel Pumar next month. Pumar is the same Fili- pino who was relieved of the WBC International belt by Kwayiba last year.

Joyi says he wants to put an end to Kwayiba's claim that he is the superior fighter of the two.

"He is going around telling people that I fight rejects that he has already defeated and also that I have not defended the IBO title since I won it when he has already defended twice," said Joyi.

"I want to beat him and prove that he is nothing."

Joyi left the boxing fraternity gazing in disbelief at Emperors Palace on November 4 last year when he flattened Amanda Cruz in only two rounds to win the IBO belt.

"I want this fight so much that I will be ready just after fighting Pumar. I asked S'Phatho [Handi, his manager] to talk to Kwayiba's promoter Branco Milenkovic about the prospect of this fight.

"He definitely has to prove his worth by beating me."

These two combatants are undefeated in their promising careers.
