A teacher who forced a pupil to have an Aids test to determine her status has been fined R6000. She will, however, continue teaching.
Suzette Gouws, a teacher at Middelburg Combined School in Mpuma-langa, was found guilty of misconduct and fined by the education department.
Gouws forced Thoko Hlatshwayo, 16, to undergo the test after she scratched Gouw's arm when she fell during an epileptic seizure.
