Ajax Cape Town are optimistic to march to the next round of the prestigious Telkom Knockout at the expense of Free State Stars tonight.

The two meet in what is expected to be an exciting encounter at Athlone Stadium at 7.30 pm.

This is the game that the Urban Warriors are determined to win at all costs, more so playing at home.

Their spokesman Thabiso Mekuto hopes that strong winds blow during the game and rain falls before kickoff.

"That will come in handy for us because Stars are not used to the winds and the damp pitch. It will be a plus for us. Although we have been playing well since the league started, cup games are unpredictable," said Mekuto.

He added that they would pressurise their opponents and give them little space to move."

Ea lla koto's manager, Rantsi Mokoena said they were not perturbed by Ajax but were looking for a win away from home.

"We have nothing to lose and nothing to defend but to play. We don't believe in home ground advantage, and we are less concerned about their fans," said Mokoena.

Mekuto said apart from injuries to some of their key players, they will be having Russell Mwafulira, Thembinkosi Fanteni, Salig Doutie and Bryce Moon to see the home side going through to the quarterfinals.

Mokoena said striker Sifiso Vilakazi has started to score goals and could be the player to watch on the day. Others are Diyo Sibisi and Duncan Lechesa.
