The newly crowned Miss Swaziland, Nkosingiphile Dlamini, says she will make her nation proud at the Miss World pageant to be held in China in December.

Dlamini, 22, who was crowned on Saturday in Manzini, is proud of her culture and has been attending the Reed Dance for the past four years.

"There is nothing wrong with going to the Reed Dance. It is not only about the King choosing a wife," she said.

The answer to whether she was a virgin as the ceremony requires "was too personal", she said.
