One of the oldest and most reputable law firms in the country, Routledge Modise Attorneys, is offering a R25000 scholarship.

The scholarship includes tuition and books to LLB students to study at Wits University next year.

The human resources director at the law firm, Nikki Piaggesi, said: "Our aim is to assist students in their penultimate year who might otherwise not be able to continue their studies because of financial difficulties."

Piaggesi said the firm would help law students during their studies. She said students who showed potential would be offered vacation work and the possibility to do their articles at the firm.

"A firm such as ours offers many opportunities for advancement. We have mentorship programmes in place for our candidate attorneys.

"Those that show potential are likely to be offered positions as associates once they have been admitted," said Piaggesi.

Applications should be submitted by February 22 next year.
