GENEVA - Turkish artillery bombardments on Iraqi territory are hampering relief efforts in northern Iraq, the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) said yesterday.

About 2000 Iraqis have fled from their homes because of the shelling, and camps have been set up for displaced people, IOM Iraqi official Dana Graber said.

Turkish artillery bombing on the border villages have caused monitors to cease their assessments because they cannot reach the population. - Sapa
