Three senior members of the South African Democratic Teachers' Union (Sadtu) appeared briefly in two separate cases in the Vereeniging magistrate's court yesterday on charges related to the June public sector strike.
Moses Senye and Sam Nengwekulu face allegations of malicious damage to property and assault.
Senye is Sadtu's Gauteng central chairman and Nengwekulu its Ennerdale branch chairman.
They allegedly assaulted Clare Lucas, the principal of St George's Primary School in Ennerdale, two pupils and the school's cleaner on June 4.
The incident allegedly took place during the national wage strike by civil servants.
The case was postponed to October 8.
Sydney Kokoropo, an Orange Farm school principal, also appeared on charges of damaging a vehicle belonging to a school clerk during the strike.
Judgment will be passed on November 22.
