"We are still experiencing the changes that come with a new name and new owners who have joined the club," Da Gama said.
"It's not a simple process as we have to move on from what we did as Silver Stars and now focus on what we are as Platinum Stars. Some of the players were unsure about the move while others accepted it wholeheartedly."
The Bafokeng tribe acquired more than half of the club's shares during the off-season and beside the name change, some of them are directly involved with the running of the club.
"We have explained it to players who've been unsure about the changes and slowly but surely they are accepting it. It's not easy undergoing these changes and most people don't understand the approach we now have.
"Management knows what my role is and they don't interfere with it.
"In fact, they are very supportive of what we (technical staff) are doing. There is no pressure or any kind of demands from them and we are confident the best is yet to come."
Stars held Jomo Cosmos to a 1-1 draw in a Premiership game played at the Mehlareng Stadium on Sunday and Da Gama, a former Moroka Swallows striker, was pleased with the result.
"It was a good game and I'm happy with the result, although we let it slip," Da Gama said.
Stars took the lead in the 25th minute through Joseph Mkalipa but then lost focus a minute in the second half as Reneilwe Letsholonyane equalised for Cosmos.
Stars are seventh on the log with seven points from five games and their next league game is against Kaizer Chiefs at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on October 21. - Sapa
