Shobebe died at Kings Park Rugby Stadium before the game started.
Pirates' communications manager Mickey Modisane said Bucs hierarchy and supporters were saddened by the incident.
"It is on a very sad note that we heard about the death of Shobebe, who died before the kickoff of the Supa 8 final. However, I also want to emphasise that his death had nothing to do with the outcome of the game," said Modisane.
Shobebe will be buried at the Empangeni Cemetery on Sunday at noon.
The service will be held at Kwamthetwa Reserve Enhlabosini (Empangeni) from 8am to noon.- Sowetan
