The African champions finished bottom of their group with just one point, but held 2003 runners-up Sweden to a 1-1 draw and were unlucky against world No. 1 the United States on Tuesday when they lost 1-0.
The women's showpiece will be highlighted on the African Soccer Television show (ASTV) on SABC Sport's Laduma programme on Sunday.
In their other group game, the Nigerians lost 2-0 to North Korea. Effiom said the match against the US could have gone either way.
"The team really played very well apart from a slight mistake in the first minute," he said, referring to the US goal. "I want to say that the players played well.
"They gave it all their best. We created some good chances and it could have been different.
"It was always going to be difficult in such a strong group, with the USA, Sweden and North Korea. We wanted to show that Nigeria's women's team could compete and I think we've done that."
Africa's only other representative at the World Cup was Ghana who were already eliminated after a 4- 1 defeat to Australia and a 4-0 pasting from Canada.
They were due to play Norway in their final game yesterday.
Other highlights include Ghana's 5-0 drubbing by Saudi Arabia in a friendly.
The show will also feature the Mozambique League match that saw D Maputo lose 1-0 to Costa do Sol, Asec Mimosas' 3-0 win over Binger Ville in a grudge encounter in the Cote d'Ivoire League and San Pedro's 2-0 loss to Africa Sport.
