'Keep up the good work'

As Africans, let us not view Sowetan's coverage on Zimbabwe as another way to please the West and the gangs of no particular origin on our continent.

We are living in a new political environment. Today's politics should be regarded like a relay race, where one should run and give the stick to their team mate.

President Robert Mugabe's resistance to the interests and wishes of the West on Zimbabwe has already showed us that as Africans we must refrain from operating with a colonial mentality. Let us prove that we've already realised we've been fighting each other because of a hand from outside our continent.

Robert Mugabe should actually agree to live with the gangs of no particular origin in his country. But he needs to develop strategies to ensure these gangs of no particular origin do not snatch away Zimbabwean wealth.

Really, something needs to be done in that country because we cannot afford to see Africans suffering in that way any longer. There might have been the so-called Lancaster House Agreement, but let it be viewed as a learning curve.

Keep up the good work guys. You know there is no one who can please the entire world.
