We know that we all have to die one day, but when death strikes suddenly, as in the case of Mapule Sinah Khiba, it is very difficult to accept.

Khiba, a teacher at Mahlohonolo Intermediate School in Botshabelo since 1990, died after a short illness on September 12.

She was born on February 18, 1966 in Burgersdorp, Eastern Cape. She started her education at Mzimkhulu Primary School in Burgersdorp. She completed her matric at Vulamasango High School in Bloemfontein in 1984. She held a primary teachers diploma from Kagisanong College of Education in Bloemfontein.

She graduated with a B.Ed degree at the University of the Free State in 2004.

Khiba was head of department at Mahlohonolo Intermediate School at the time of her death.

The athletics coach held an athletics coaching certificate in levels 1 and 2. She loved wrestling.

Khiba had a good heart, always giving clothes and food to the needy. It was hard to wipe the smile off this open-minded individual.

Khiba is survived by her husband, Thetso, two sons, mother, mother-in-law and siblings. The funeral service will be held at Roma Church at Bloemside in Bloemfontein tomorrow from 7.30 am.She will be buried at South Park Cemetery.
