Armed criminals entered the Ekangala police station in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng, and shot a policeman in the head before making off with guns and money yesterday.
Spokesman Sergeant Willie Hlatshwayo said four men took out guns and started shooting. The men jumped over the counter and demanded the keys to the safe.
They took the officer's service pistol, stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe and a VW Golf and fled.
The policeman was released from hospital last night. - McKeed Kotlolo
