A clean-up operation of Pretoria following a two-week strike by refuse workers has seen most of the garbage removed from the city's streets, the City of Tshwane said yesterday.

The council member responsible for the city's department of agriculture and environment management, Tessa Ernest, and the strategic executive director, Murunwa Makwarela, visited several sites in the city to check on the progress of the operation.

A call-centre line has been set up for residents to alert the city about any backlogs in the clean-up.
