It's exactly two years today since two Limpopo children disappeared mysteriously and it is not known whether they are still alive or dead.
Several searches for the children by the police and the community have failed to yield results.
A special police task team established to investigate the matter also failed in its endeavours to crack the case.
Thapelo Morapedi, 8, and her cousin, Khomotso Moitsi, 14, from Motlana village in Senwabarwana, formerly Bochum, disappeared without a trace on September 17 2005 shortly after arriving home from church.
The two children left their home to go and watch television at a neighbour's house and have not been seen since.
Maphuti Moitsi, 32, Thapelo's mother, told Sowetan yesterday it was painful to spend two years without knowing the children's whereabouts.
She said they had also lost hope in the police because they had taken such a long time without informing them of any developments in the matter.
"Two years is really a long time and leaves us with no option but to rely on God to provide us with answers as to the whereabouts of our children.
"We do not know whether to continue praying or give up hope that the children will ever return, alive or dead," said Moitsi.
The same situation is being experienced by her elder sister, Revina Moitsi, the mother of Khomotso.
The family had visited various churches, inyangas and prophets hoping to find a clue regarding the whereabouts of the missing children, but to no avail.
