Stars want Rabbit stew

Platinum Stars and Benoni Premier United recently experienced some changes in their camps, but their representatives have vowed to set those aside in their Castle Premiership clash on Sunday.

Stars host the Rabbits at Mmabatho Stadium, and are hell-bent on making amends after losing both opening games of the season - against Black Leopards and Bloemfontein Celtic. They find themselves fifth from the bottom of the log.

They will be counting on the return to action of striker Hareaipha "Simba" Marumo from suspension, whom they have clearly missed.

Stars' publicist Putco Mafani was quick to highlight the role changes in the club's management had played in recent losses.

"Players are very sensitive to uncertainty, they hate not knowing what the future holds for them," Mafani said.

He added that everyone in the camp was keen to prove that it was not simply a fluke that Stars ended last season as league runners-up.

United's team manager Thabani Gumede is confident his team can pry themselves from the bottom of the log table at Stars' expense.

"The coaches, Roger Palmgren and Johan Eriksson's understanding with the players is getting better, and we have to come back from Stars with three points," Gumede said.
