Ndavhe Ramakuela, a top Limpopo communications strategist, is set to join the Polokwane Municipality as head of the 2010 World Cup.

The announcement is expected to be made in the next few days by Thabo Makunyane, the executive mayor of Polokwane, one of the nine cities hosting the World Cup.

"We will be making an announcement once the matter has gone through to the council for approval," said Makunyane.

"I can't mention names at this stage because nothing has been approved by the council. We were supposed to have discussed it last week.

"We need a person who will spearhead all the projects relating to the 2010 World Cup for the muni- cipality and also liaise with the Local Organising Committee.

"He or she will also represent the municipality on the activities of the tournament," added Makunyane.

Ramakuela is employed by the Capricorn District Municipality as chief of communications and spokesman for Motalane Monakedi, the executive mayor.

The media studies graduate from the University of Limpopo could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press.
