Social Development Minister Zola Skweyiya is in Moscow to attend the first World Social Security Forum, which will focus on issues including pension fund investment strategies and child poverty.

Social Development Minister Zola Skweyiya is in Moscow to attend the first World Social Security Forum, which will focus on issues including pension fund investment strategies and child poverty.

"The forum is hosted by the International Social Security Association of which South Africa has been a member since 2004," said spokesman Lakela Kaunda.

More than 1000 delegates from 100 countries are expected to attend the forum.

"We are currently seriously considering the request by the association for South Africa to host the World Social Security Forum in 2010," Skweyiya said in a statement.
