Scorpions' spokesman Panyaza Lesufi has resigned, but has refused to say why.

Scorpions' spokesman Panyaza Lesufi has resigned, but has refused to say why.

Lesufi joined the National Prosecuting Authority in March after Makhosini Nkosi left under pressure from supporters of ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma.

Cosatu in KwaZulu- Natal had campaigned vigorously for Nkosi's removal.

Nkosi's family also received threats.

Lesufi was, however, apparently not publicly subjected to similar pressures by Zuma's supporters,

He has returned to the Gauteng department of education where he had previously also been a spokesman.

Lesufi started his new duties as director for support services last Monday. - Kingdom Mabuza
