Foreigners robbing us

As a proud South African, father, teacher and ex-player, I vehemently oppose the establishment of a Manchester United Soccer School in the country.

Where is our national pride and patriotism when we allow foreign clubs to control and export the best talent in the country? Unlike other countries, South Africa has opened the door to multinational interests of European clubs to recruit and train our youth according to those clubs' respective cultures.

With the addition of Manchester United Soccer School to Ajax Amsterdam and other foreign-supported youth soccer projects in the country, most of the best local talent will be controlled by foreign interests.

I find it arrogant and provocative to demand that the youngsters enrolled in these foreign-controlled projects must play the "Ajax way", the "Man United way" or any other ways that might not be the right way for our soccer.
