Monday nights on e.tv will never be the same, thanks to their upcoming soccer drama.

A precursor to the 2010 Soccer World Cup, the Penguin Film-produced drama Shooting Stars will be on e.tv from tonight at 9pm.

With all the excitement already in the air, e.tv is making sure that viewers are focused on 2010. The drama is aimed at fuelling soccer frenzy to such an extent that by the time the world converges on South Africa everybody will be on a natural high.

The weekly drama will catch the excitement, awake latent anticipation and transport everybody to the world of competitive soccer.

Shooting Stars is set in the world of local soccer and over three seasons will chart the fortunes of some players and their clubs.

Tonight viewers will see Shooting Stars move from the PSL to the Mvela league.

Drama, passion, triumph, failure, temptation, hope, courage and intrigue all have their place in the lives of the captivating characters and the world of the Super League, and none will be in short supply.

Characters such as Wandile Dhlomo (Motlatsi Mafatshe), Okwa "Duke" Opara (Anthony Oseyemi), Sechaba Makayi (Dumisani Mbebe) and Muzi Mpetla (Anele Matoti) will become part of the extended family of the viewers.

As the owner of Shooting Stars, Bra Vic Tau (Timmy Kwebulane) is passionate about his club and will do whatever it takes for them to regain their PSL status and - almost as importantly, to defeat their rivals, the Black Dragons.

Making up the sterling supporting cast are Nicky Rebelo, Quentin Krog, Chumani Pan, Thami Mbongo, Chumisa Cosa, Lesedi Mogoatlhe, Wiseman Sithole and Joe Mafela.
