Dear Dudu

I was in a relationship with a wonderful guy. His best friend told me he was in love with me. I told him I loved my boyfriend.

I also told him I would never cheat on my boyfriend. I then told my boyfriend what had happened and after a few days he told me he thought it was best that we break up.

He said once his friend has his own girlfriend we can perhaps see about getting back together again.

I couldn't believe it, but he had made up his mind. I can't believe I meant so little to him.

I am heartbroken and all I want is to have him back again.

What should I do to get him back?

I think his actions should tell you exactly how he feels.

He put his friend's feelings before yours and obviously his best friend means more to him than you do. I know it sounds cruel, but you have to be realistic about the situation.

You haven't said how old you both are, but to me he sounds extremely immature and selfish. Does he expect you to wait around for him until his friend has a girlfriend? You would be foolish to do that.

If you feel strongly that you want to give it a last chance, then speak to him honestly and tell him he has a choice to make because you are not prepared to wait for him. I think he might be playing games with your emotions and you are probably better off without him. Give yourself a chance to meet someone who will appreciate your love.
