Discipline Madlala-Routledge

The hullabaloo around the dismissal of Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge threatens to turn our country into a lawless state where people with political ambitions can easily undermine the government.

The hullabaloo around the dismissal of Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge threatens to turn our country into a lawless state where people with political ambitions can easily undermine the government.

The country is governed by a constitution that is respected the world over. A clause stipulates the president's right to assemble an executive.

In doing so, he scrutinises suitable candidates and makes the necessary appointments. As head of the government, the president is obliged to constantly monitor the performance of his charges. If the outcome suggests change is necessary, he must act accordingly.

I wonder what led to Madlala-Routledge's conduct and her supporters' unwarranted attacks on the government? It's worrying that all of them cried conspiracy without providing proof that she was a target.

If she is the "angel" they portray her to be, why did she lie to the nation when she said several senior government officials supported her wayward behaviour? All the people she mentioned have dissociated themselves from her claims. Isn't she ashamed that she misled the nation and played the victim knowing why she was dismissed?

Her conduct is very strange for an ANC member. I hope our leadership does the right thing and disciplines her.
