Santos chief executive Edries Burton is nervous about their forthcoming game against Moroka Swallows and wishes they could meet the Birds later.
Their Castle Premiership game takes place at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
"We're meeting a good side which is balanced all-round. They have quality players and they are playing exciting football. Their midfield and defence are stable, so we're looking forward to a good game," he said.
"We saw them in their last two league games against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns that they are the team to beat. So we need to be on our toes from the opening whistle right to the last."
Burton said they have acquired a number of young players from their development ranks and he hopes that the team will be playing as a unit after a few games.
"The youngsters are willing workhorses because they want to make a mark in high-level football, so they are motivated and looking forward to the game," said Burton.
Swallows general manager Sipho Xulu said they were aware that they were meeting a young and exciting Santos side.
"They are hard to beat at home. They play good football and they are more dangerous when they are in possession," he said.
