Cosatu, SACP must stop war on Mbeki

They have joined the likes of the DA and Patricia de Lille's ID. I find this opportunistic for Cosatu to deviate media attention from Zwelinzima Vavi's close ally Dr Blade Nzimande over the missing donation of R500000 made to the SACP by a Tshwane businessman.

At no stage has Cosatu condemned what looks like a money-laundering scheme. Yet they find it relevant to call for Tshabalala-Msimang's resignation.

In recent years the tripartite alliance has faced many challenges. Some of them can be attributed to lack of respect for the alliance by Cosatu and the SACP. The two have been behaving badly for a long time. I am certain that if one was to look deep into the troubles facing the alliance and the leadership battles within the ANC, one could easily retrace some of these problems back to the two parties.

The two also levelled all sorts of allegations against the National Prosecuting Authority when they started investigating ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma on the role he played in the arms deal. They continue to lambast President Thabo Mbeki openly. I think all this must stop now. Things cannot continue like this.
