The president of Stop Child Abuse, Paul Kgantsi has appealed to child molesters to, "see a child before you see a woman".
Kgantsi said his organisation was tired of child abuse and it was "high time communities acted and did everything in their power to protect children".
His plea comes after Sowetan published the story of a six-year-old who was lured away from her playmates by her rapist under the pretext that her mother had sent him to take her to the doctor.
The child was reported missing to the police a week ago.
Only Tuesday afternoon her molester, who has not yet been arrested, dropped her off at the gate to her home where she, her mother and two sisters live in a back room in Mofolo North, Soweto.
"There is no excuse for raping a child.
"I pray the molester does not find peace, rest and happiness in his life until he surrenders himself to the police," said Kgantsi.
l Meanwhile, on Saturday the Community Policing Forum in Meadowlands, Soweto held an awareness campaign at the township's police station hall.
Discussions focused on women and child abuse, and CPF's secretary, Teddy Makgale, said they were delighted so many people had attended and shown an interest.
"Abuse does not only affect women and children, but men as well," he said."
