Boxing trainer Nick Durandt is so confident of victory for his fighter Isaac Hlatshwayo when he defends his International Boxing Organisation (IBO) welterweight crown against Australian Robert Medley that he does not mind going to the Aussie's backyard for the fight.

This will be Hlatshwayo's first defence of the title he won by beating a Durandt-trained fighter, Joseph Makaringe, when Hlatshwayo was still under the mentorship of Manny Fernandez.

The fight will take place at the Panthers League Club, Penrith, in New South Wales, on October 12.

"You do not think I would let my fighter go to the challenger's backyard if I was not confident of his victory," Durandt said.

Durandt's confidence has not been dampened by the fact that Medley is unbeaten in 18 bouts, with 12 knockouts. Hlatshwayo, a two-time world champion, has lost only once in 28 bouts. - Sapa
