Career Junction on Wednesday night honoured online recruiting agencies for their efforts in finding jobs for unemployed people.

The agencies were honoured at the fourth annual Junction Awards, with media partners Sowetan and Sunday World in Midrand, Johannesburg.

Career Junction also used the event to celebrate 10 years of excellence in online recruitment.

Sowetan and Sunday World's editor-in-chief Thabo Leshilo said the relationship between the two papers and Career Junction had yielded good results.

"This is our second year of involvement with Career Junction and our job market editions have shown significant growth.

"It shows how important it is to help someone get a job," said Leshilo.

A total of 45 recruitment agencies were nominated in small, medium and large agency categories.

More than 6000 career seekers cast their votes to choose the best agencies.

Accountants On Call won the small agency category.

Quest and Kelly won the medium and large categories respectively.

A lucky job seeker, Ntshepo Lakaje, won a laptop.
