A 33-year-old man was arrested in Molapo, Soweto, yesterday for being in possession of suspected stolen goods.

Police believe he is linked to a 34-year-old man who was arrested a week ago in the same township for burglaries .

In last week's arrest, police recovered a TV set, a home theatre system, car radios, identity documents and a passport at the suspect's home.

The alleged thief was charged with malicious damage to property, housebreaking, theft and possession of stolen goods.

Moroka police spokesman Sergeant Nokuzola Mashaba said the 34-year-old man was arrested after a tip-off.

Mashaba said the man would be charged with possession of stolen goods when he appears in court soon.

Mashaba said police were searching for other suspects and believe the men were part of a syndicate.

"We urge residents not to buy stolen goods," she said.
