After a successful tour of North America and Israel, Ladysmith Black Mambazo cannot wait to perform in front of local fans, says the group.

Dubbed the kings of scathamiya, the group is scheduled to perform at the State Theatre in Pretoria tomorrow and Saturday, with a further performance on August 31.

Boasting more than 30 years of experience, Ladysmith Black Mambazo is one of the country's most successful groups.

Their latest album Ilembe, released in January, sells like hot cakes. The album has gone gold for selling more than 25000 copies.

Joseph Shabalala, the group's founder, says he will introduce his understudy for the first time.

"I have found somebody who will take over from me when I am tired. I want our fans to give the person a chance. When I die, I don't want the group to die with me.

"People can look forward to an exciting night with Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

"We will perform their favourite songs."

Merging traditional rhythms and harmonies, the group has travelled the world promoting their music, which has touched audiences worldwide.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo has received praise and accolades from around the world. The group has collaborated with international artists such as Des'ree, Dolly Parton, Paul Simon and Josh Groban.
