AmaZulu's management wants the team to produce the best players for Bafana Bafana, and the results.
Club chairman Patrick Sokhela said yesterday in Durban that they had done all they could to give the technical team the support they needed, so it was now up to them to produce results.
"We have one player in the national team, Bafo Biyela, but I can assure you that by the end of the season, we would have two players. We want to show the whole country that AmaZulu mean business," he said.
Sokhela still firmly believes that a top four finish is in the offing, failing which they will be after a top eight spot.
"I don't think our win against Mamelodi Sundowns was a fluke, as many people might have thought, but it was because of the good work put behind [the scenes].
"We have worked hard and will continue working hard to ensure that we get results," said Sokhela.
He said as the management, they have put their money where their mouth is.
"We have signed some exciting players, we are working on building up our supporters programme, we will be opening branches all over the country, simple because we want the team to return to its former glory. Our marketing side is up and running and we are busy finalising [a deal] with a kit sponsor."
Sokhela said they were building a strong team that would be the pride of the province and the country.
They will be playing most of their games at Princess Magogo stadium in KwaMashu.
"That is going to be our slaughterhouse. We want teams to know when they come to play us that they have to jump into a lion's den. We want to conquer and I am positive we will," said an optimistic Sokhela.
Clive "The Dog" Barker remains the caretaker coach. He said they would be making an announcement on a central defender within 48 hours.
"But it won't be Patrick Mayo, as media have speculated," he said.
Director Graham O'Connor said they were still in contract negotiations with John "Shoes" Mosheou.
