Emerging recording label Bula Music has joined the big league by roping top Japanese-American pianist Keiko Matsui into their stable.
Bula will release and distribute her new album Moyo. This will bealbum number 21 for the jazz pianist. The South African company is home to many gospel artists, including Lundi.
Matsui produced the album working with the best bands, including household names like Hugh Masekela, Fana Zulu, Tlale Makhene, Lucas Senyatso, Kunle Ayo, Lawrence Matshiza, Vivian Thulane and Derek Nakamoto, among others.
The album will be released in South Africa during her promotional tour next month. Matsui, who is now based in Los Angeles, is an icon in contemporary jazz music.
With nearly 1.2 million units sold in the US alone, Matsui is one of the most recognised jazz artists in the world. She has filled concert halls wherever she has played.
